Sadly - The Aquasonics won't be able to make it - too little money in the old band fund.... Crying Crying

Chris

Bummer Chris. Sad
We'll miss you guys, we were sure were looking forward to having y'all.

The Thunderchiefs

That is a real bummer. We hardly ever get surf bands to play in Texas, so I was really looking forward to seeing the Aquasonics. Maybe another time. I'm still looking forward to seeing the Thunderchiefs. I know after seeing them open for Jerry Cole, that they will still give the crowd plenty of surf action. Cant wait to get the Thunderchiefs debut CD!!!

Hey SurfGuitar101,

Garrett from the Orangu-Tones here, making my first post on the forum.

I cannot wait to get on that plane tomorrow! The lineup is great (even if the Orangu-Tones are playing)! I'm pretty excited to see the Thunderchiefs, and I really wanna get my hands on that CD.

Sucks that the Aquasonics aren't coming. They's re great band.

Hey Chris, just hop on the plane and Barry, Kurt and I will back you up!

Seee you tomorrow TX.
Gb

Please don't tempt me - We really screwed up not figuring out a way to go to this show - I'm gonna kick myself for a long time.

We should have gone, even if it was only two of us - Lots of good friends and musicians there to play with.

Have a great time Garrett!

Chris

HOLY COW!

That was a great time! And dang... The Thunderchiefs! WOW!

I was definitely amazed by all the amazing guitar players I saw this weekend. I was kinda out of place, but I sure enjoed playing.

Great crowd, great venue, and one fantastic lineup!

Thanks Austin!
Garrett

Is there a Thunderchiefs cd?

Yep we've got em Ted.

I'll get everyone the ordering info soon, got take a few days to recover from this weekend.

Man what can I say, it was Epic.

Garret, you were definitely not out of place!
I never heard anything so good as your jag coming out of my Bandmaster!

The Oranga-tones were unbelievable!

Thanks to all the bands and all folks who made the show a huge success.
I'm indebted to you all.

Man, crazy weekend! I'm just now recuperating from it all. All of the bands were GREAT and the house was packed! I am bummed that my first Orangu-Tones show was their last show...well, at least until the reunion (hint, hint!)

I got "Dig The Thunderchiefs" CD from Shaun yesterday and after two spins I've gotta recommend it VERY highly! Really faithful trad surf, with great tones, skilled playing, authentic production and excellent songwriting (split between Mike, formerly of the Sir Finks, Joe Emery, formerly of Death Valley, and Shaun himself, formerly of several major rockabilly bands - what credentials!!!) It reminds me a bit of the Sir Finks CD, but I also have to say I like this one better, maybe even quite a bit better. Just great, great stuff. (Beware instro purists: there are a handful of vocals on the CD, but they definitely fit in, being either of the surf/garage variety a la the Crossfires or along the lines of Bobby Fuller vocal stuff.) ' Don't hesitate to order this!

Thumbs Up

Garret, you were defiantly not out of place!

Nice of you to say, but honestly, you guys were the TONE KINGS of the weekend! I hope I didn't spoil your very cool amp. Thanks so much for letting me use it!

By the way, did your speaker cable turn up? I have no idea where it could've gone between our sets. I'd be more than happy to send you a new one if needed.

I think my hangovers finally gone, now I just have to figure out what to do with myself now that I don't have a band...
