Hi everyone. I'm probably supposed to introduce myself somewhere. I'll figure out where in a sec. I'm moving back to the states after 3 years in Japan. I'd like to study surf guitar with someone who plays in a surf band. Does anyone know of any surf musicians in San Fran who give lessons?
I love this site so much. Thanks to everyone for contributing!

I'd be glad to give you lessons. I live in Berkeley, but I'm right next door to a BART station.

Also...if you live in San Francisco check out the Professor Sludge Guitar Academy. Eric Lenchner has played with many bands in the bay area for the last 20+ years including the Pop-Sludge-Surf band the Ultras.

Thanks for the response guys. Danny, that sounds great! You'll definitely be hearing from me when I arrive. I've taken some lessons before, so I'd rank myself as somewhere in the intermediate range, but I've fallen in love with surf music over then last few months and would love to expedite the learning process a bit.
So that's great. You'll be hearing from me!

I'm looking forward to it. The hard work is on you though, it takes consistent practice to get your trem picking down.
Sludge is a phenomenal player and I'm sure he's a great teacher. I bet I'm cheaper though
Thanks for the props Ron!

Cool. Danny, I just bought your bands CD. Glad I started this thread, so I could discover your band. Sounds like some great stuff. Yeah, I'm ready to move back to the states. The lessons are icing on the cake. I've been practicing my trem picking almost everyday. There's just only so much I can do on my own before my regimen gets stagnant. I still have a few months left in Japan, but there's no doubt about it--you'll here from me when I get to CA. Thanks!

Indie, youre really fortunate to be learning from one of the best surf guitarists around. Man, I would love to get some lessons and tip from Danny.
Have fun Indie!
