OK, here we go - the final song of our six week giveaway. This time it's the Surf Coasters' Intruder, again recorded in July at HBISM. Hope you like it! Go here:

http://surfguitar101.com/TheMadeira/songs.html

We still have more Ruins CDs to give away, so if you like what you hear, just post a comment here or on our MySpace page (preferred), and we'll select one winner next Sunday.

The winner this week: it's our own Butch Fitzpatrick AKA Butchdelux of the Cavefish from Florida! Congratulations! Send me a PM with your address, and I'll get the CD to you right away.

no, they played on national tv a couple of years ago...a 30 min live slot on a show called studio22...i missed that..also they toured here in my home city as part of a "history of australian rock music" (a nostalgia trip with about 20-30 australian has-beens...) but i think every artist did about 1 or 2 songs max. so not yet!

Our "Live Track of the Week" giveaway is now finished. It's been a lot of fun to do, and has gotten more people to check out our websites and introduce them to our music. The winners were:

* Alexander Hoffman (Valley Village, CA)
* Joel Edwards (Redlands, CA)
* Douglas Paulin (Ventura, CA)
* Adam Smith (Wallsand, Australia)
* Steven Van Brussel (Destelbergen, Belgium)
* Patrick LeJenue (Port Saint Lucie, FL)
* Gil Romero (Denver, CO)

We have put up all six live tracks (plus a bonus: Dick Dale's "Taco Wagon"!) on our website now, so you can listen to them to your heart's content!

Thanks again to all who participated!

Ivan.
Who does your fantastic art work on your ablums and your web site?
Joel

Ivan...follow up question:

How'd the gig go on Friday? Sorry I couldn't get there Crying

Any natural disasters (ice storms, etc.)?

Jet Sterling, Cosmic Spy
www.surfabillyfreakout.com

Joel, the artwork of both CDs was done by SG101's very own Ferenc Dobronyi! Talented chap, i tell you! As far as the website, SG101's very own Brian Neal runs it for us. He doesn't do the artwork - I think there's only one bit of artwork on the website which we found on the internet. Anyway, I hope that answers your question.

Jet, the gig went extremely well. It was a BLAST! See here for a fuller review. And no, no natural disasters this time! Maybe we finally paid our dues and shook off the curse??? Or maybe if i start thinking that, it's gonna return!

Best,
Ivan

My wife Shari designed the logo (cobbled together the font - some letters were hand made). She also created the front page header graphic using a public domain photo source and her own magic.

Ah, my apologies, I forgot the logo! Credit where credit is due, Shari really did a great job, and I still absolutely love that photo for the background which she found....
