Any other video game themes worth doing?

You may have seen this too... it was a YouTube promoted video not too long ago. I think they do pretty good with it (granted it's not "surfed"). I like the idea of a mashup Trashmen v. Rovio surf jam

Anything from Castlevania series. Another
Final Fantasy VII Theme. And pretty much anything else from that series composed before 2002.
Zelda, of course.

Jake already posted Bloody Tears, but the Mega Man series had some classic beep boop music I've been tempted to learn. I didn't listen to "real" music when I was a kid so I could go on and on.
Once upon a time I subconsiously stole the bassline from this song for something I was working on. I can't finish it because I can't unhear Sonic whenever I play it.

I second Castlevania. The whole series had some great music.
Also Guile's theme from Street Fighter
And one of my personal favorites; Marble Zone from Sonic. This is very similar to Music to Watch Girls Go By by Andy Summers which was covered awesomely by Satan's Pilgrims.

There are a couple of bands that only play video game music - IMO The Advantage were/are the only listenable one, though.

Mega Man 2, 3, 4, & 9 in particular. There's a three-disc box set that has the soundtracks for the first six in the series. That one might or might not have been a very late night impulse buy.

Not to carry this too far off the original question but if you want listenable video game soundtracks then you should definitely check out The Surf Coasters soundtracks for Runabout and Super Runabout (I do not have Runabout3).
I'm not a gamer (if that's even the right term) so I have no idea how good those games were/are but there a number of killer tracks that will have you putting the petal to the metal.

There's a band who played only "Zelda" themes. They where pretty cool but I can't remember their name.
This theme would be cool, but not for surf!

The first one was fun at the time but hasn't aged well. The second still holds up, IMO.

I heard that they called it quits because they were tired of playing anime conventions and couldn't stand putting up with nerds anymore. I never listened to video game cover bands but I found that story amusing.
