If I remember correctly, I think Swart modeled his reverb after the old Gibson amps, which were run in parallel to the main signal path. This lets you do some cool things for recording purposes, like turn the volume down and just play through the reverb circuit by itself, but is also the cause of common complaints with these amps (reverb gets weaker as the volume increases, etc.)
It also, as Mantid noted, doesn't make for the typical Fender surf sound we love.
That said, these are incredible amps with great tone, whether you keep it in the basement/studio or throw a tank in front and get it on stage.
Best of luck on the sale!

I think he was selling it back in 2011... Hope he has moved it by now!

Truly! I saw the recent post and thought it was still/back on the block and thought I'd chime in.

Huh, dunno what happened to my post. I updated that after deciding to sell this thing, I decided to keep it. I really love its sound... just not for surf. But now, I have a child and a few practice amps and never use it, so I would love to put it into the hands of someone who would like it. Especially in the Seattle area, but I would be willing to ship.
Still hoping to get $1500 for it. Thanks for reading!
