Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to try a Boss
FRV-1. Sorry, didn't mean to ruffle any feathers
with
my post. I wasn't asking for a recommendation on any
pedals, just wanted to know if I could improve on
the
reverb of my amp. A tank would really be overkill
for
me as I only play for my own enjoyment.

No idea why people's feathers should be ruffled. It's a
surf forum. People will ask about reverb pedals. It's
like someone complaining at "another Jazzmaster
thread". Confused

Anyway, the answer is yes. I have Super Champ XD. The
hall reverb is nice but fairly subtle. Most reverb
pedals with hall setting will sound similar, but with
more to tweak. The spring is....meh. It's way to
trebley for my liking.

If you're after spring reverb then yes, the Boss FRV-1
is a good choice (though I found it compresses fuzz
pedals a little). If you want a fatter reverb with a
natural decay similar to a spring tank you could try
the Malekko chicklet/spring or the Earthquaker Ghost
Echo. I prefer the GE, but it's quite hissy with the XD
amp but takes fuzz way better.

For more diversity (but with spring settings included)
there's the cheap digitech digiverb, or for more $$ the
Digitech RV-7. The Boss RV-5 Is pretty good to, though
the spring setting is a bit random.

So there you go.

I like reverb pedals and will talk about them if
prompted. Especially on a surf guitar forum if it helps
someone out. Yes

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. I ordered the FRV-1, if that doesn't work out I'll try one of your other suggestions.
