Plus one on that. Also, Jack N's version of Baja. Oh, and the Jet Harris version of Besame Mucho.

Yes

Jeff, I wish I did, but no Laughing
Carioca has been done by tons of people with different arrangements. Our cover follows The Jokers version.

I just bought a Dano baritone and I'm excited to start playing around with it and writing with it for the 2nd The Red Planets disc. This thread is giving great inspiration!

Full length "Chases Lead to Crashes" available now - The Red Planets

listen to 'Diamonds' and 'Scarlet O'Hara by Jet Harris and Tony Mehan from around 1963,great tunes by the Ex Shadows. Its on Youtube

Is the Second Cecilia Ann off the Ramblin' Ambassadors album Vista Cruiser Country Squire done with a Baritone or Bass?

Would be a good song to learn. I'm still very much a beginner and these have all been great songs! Really liking the Jet Harris songs

Great songs but neither of them played on a baritone/Bass VI guitar. Jet used a downtuned Jaguar to play both songs (in fact, there're some reports that it's not even Jet playing the lead on Scarlett O'Hara!). Jet's Bass VI playing was on his solo tracks: Besame Mucho, Man from Nowhere, Man with a Golden Arm, and one or two others.

I just recently got into Jet Harris last year.
Some of the vocal songs are quite corny and dated.
But his baritone songs are great.
Here is our version of Man From Nowhere.

Nice version of that tune. I've found the same thing to be true about Jet Harris's material.

I'm pretty sure Brent Cooper used a baritone on 60 Seconds to What (The first Ramblin release), and probably Cecilia Ann as well. I was hanging out with him in Calgary a couple of years ago, and we talked a lot about how much we both loved the sound of a baritone.

Yeah, in the information in that For A Few Guitars More cd it says he used a Bass VI

Thanks for the info on 60 seconds and Cecillia Rev! I think I'll have to get Cecillia Ann in the mix with my instructor. I really like that version along with the Bambi Molesters version. A big thanks to you all for writing great songs and keeping me enthusiastic about learning the guitar cause these darn barre cords are making it frustrating!

Sad news about Jet Harris Sad

surf guitar noob

Thought I'd post this guy's Jerry Jones doubleneck clip, one neck a 6-string bass.

That is friggin' awesome Bob! I have major guitar envy. I WANT that Jones. A local Blues guy, Nathan James, plays a Dano Bari (B-B) fingerstyl and gets some pretty incredible sounds, but this just kills! Thanks!

Sheesh. Thanks for sharing that Bob. But, it underscores that, as many good melodies as I think I can write, I'm still just a hack on this here guitar instrument! Smile Great tone and phenomenal playing.

I sure like the two-neck config. and wish I'd held out for one of those [rather than my Longhorn 6]. Then I could whip down to the low twang whenever...
