It looks to me like cd postershop is still offering the
duplication packages.
I called them about three weeks ago and they said they no longer did them. Now, I check the website and the service is back up. However, they no longer have the 'new release' deal. Also, the price seems to have increased substantially if you are wanting the turnaround in less than three weeks with options.
Even more, I just got back the test copy from www.kunaki.com and am very impressed. At 1.30 per cd with no minimum order and a 24 hour turnaround, plus direct shipping to distributors, it is hard to beat it. The only issue I have is that the disks could have used a varnish over the disk face print. This is an option that cdpostershop has but kunaki doesn't provide. Overall, a completely retail ready product in a few days for a very low price.

I remember hearing about kunaki a while back but forgot the name, I'm really curious as to the actual quality. Guess I'll find out soon enough!

Just got an email from CDexperts telling me that cardboard prices have jumped up, thus the cost for eco wallets have as well.

The quality is actually quite good on this test copy I got today. As I said before, it could have used a coat of laquer over the disk face, which is something cdpostershop offered, but the printing is flawless and nicely shrinkwrapped with a complimentary UPC code. What I think I am going to like most in the future is that if I need 10 cds to send to interpunk, cdbaby or any other distributor, I just go on, hit order 10 and put in where I want them mailed to. The 24 hour turnaround is a really nice plus as well.

Wow, they did go up! I wish Kunaki was a little more Mac friendly.

Not Mac friendly or Windows Vista friendly...However, considering the price difference, it would be worth a trip to the library or a friend's house to use their pc.

Once all the options are thrown in, you would be just as well going with a replications service as to use cdpostershop now.

Once you get your CD done with Kunaki, you don't need there software to have them drop ship them do you?

Very Good Question and one that I will have to get back to you on. I am not sure at all.

To answer your question, you do not need the software to order drop shipments once the album has been published to Kunaki. The only catch is that they only keep it on file for so many days if you have not ordered more copies. I believe it is for about four months or so.

Thanks for the info. Sounds good, but there's always a catch, isn't there.

So far I see no catch. I ordered the initial shipment of our CD this morning and got a message tonight that is was complete and shipped. That was about 10 hours turnaround.

Ok..one catch..the previously mentioned having to order at least one cd within a certain amount of time...minor...

Well, CD Poster Shop has officially gone belly up, and in the middle of my order for my new CD. Wonderful.

Ravcon, I imagined this was about to happen. As said before, we could not be more happy with the process of using Kunaki. The ability to order as few or as many as needed, as well as allowing our customers to order directly from the manufacturer alone has made it all worth it.

I'm afraid not having access to a PC kind of nix's Kunaki for me. Look's like I'll probably go with Diskmakers. Hopefully, they'll be around for awhile.

That is unfortunate. Perhaps you could borrow a friends pc for an hour? Then all your need for a pc will be completed from then on out.
