I beg everyone's pardon for my unfamiliarity with the Lava Rats' material, which results in my identifications being somewhat more whimsical than usual.

The Lava Rats - ??? #3

Unidentified. Maybe a 2:40 Misfits compilation? == "MOAM's "A Mouthful of Exhaust" and "Go-Go Bombora" by The Bomboras" (see below)

The Lava Rats - Suicide Squeeze

The Lava Rats - ??? #1 == Miss Fortune

Kind of reminded me of Secret Samurai's Don't Fear the Reverb, but it has now been identified by a helpful commenter on YouTube.

Meshugga Beach Party - ??? #1 == GoGo Golem

OK, apparently I'm not so good at identifying MBP's material either!

That's called GoGo Golem!

The first part of that unidentified Lava Rats video is a cover of "A Mouthful of Exhaust" by Man or Astro-man? I love the echo delay on that one.

Not sure about the second tune, but the "L.A.V.A. R.A.T.S." chant in the middle makes me think it's an original.

Thanks, Don. I think I must have a partial combined with something else short. I'll try to figure out some kind of a label. There were several pauses for various reasons and I couldn't sort it out. I hope I'm a bit warmer with the next.

The Neptunes - Stoked; Dame Anushka
The Neptunes - Raizilla
The Neptunes - Minor Surf
The Neptunes - Surf Coaster

THANKS for posting! What a blast!

That's actually two songs: MOAM's "A Mouthful of Exhaust" and "Go-Go Bombora" by The Bomboras.

Both are significantly faster and a bit sloppier than their original recordings Wink

Wow, and I have no idea why that quotation ended up gigantic.

Apologies,

I appreciate the titles for these from you and Don! I think I missed a substantial bit off the front of the MOAM number. I need to get that video relabelled! (Done.) And I need to get back to the posting process. (Done.) Four shows in four days kind of took it out of me last week, even though just watching can't be as much work as playing.

The Lava Rats chant is what prompted the reference to the Misfits.

Meshugga Beach Party - Festival of Lights
To appear in the summer release album Hot Rod Hannukkah. Nice organ ...

The TomorrowMen - Momentium
To appear momentarily in the TomorrowMen release It's About Time. This may be my new favorite Tmen piece. Momentium is presumably the substance of which time is made?

Unfortunately I missed most of the number before Momentium. This was a cover of Daler Mehndi's Tunak Tunak Tun (per Danny), so far just available live. I had a misunderstanding with my camera. I wanted to record now and it insisted on a new tape first.

The TomorrowMen - Moonage Daydream
To appear in the David Bowie tribute album.

Cousin Mary introduces Pollo del Mar

Pollo del Mar - Star Trek Theme (part) and Jonny Foo-Ninja Chiropractor
From The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.

Pollo del Mar - The Whammy
From The Ocean is Not for Cowards (though it is for those who are Chicken of the Sea)

Pollo del Mar - San Quixote
I could swear Ferenc says San Quixote. Could be sand in my ears.

And that's the end of the show! Though, of course, I haven't done the beginning yet.

The Berzerkers - Sound Check and First Song == Mung Taco
The Berzerkers - Third Song == Saquito Frio
The Berzerkers - Fourth Song == Chummin'

Is there a web site or social network site for the Berzerkers?

Titles added per YouTube comments.

"San Quixote" is a brand new one, dedicated to the patron Saint of misguided, foolish, and derelict adventures, (the definition of PDM's career) Don Quixote. The arrangement is still progressing, but we are looking forward to recording it (and many more) hopefully by the end of the year.

I missed the title of the first Wander-Ins piece.

The Wander-Ins - First Song
The Wander-Ins - Wedding Cake Island
The Wander-Ins - Easy on the Eyes

I didn't catch the story about the origins of Wedding Cake Island. Can anyone fill me in?

I may be wrong with the Aloha Screwdriver titles, since their live style is a bit different from the CD style.

Aloha Screwdriver - Escape from Robot Island <=== Click, Bang, Boom (see below)
Aloha Screwdriver - Double Barrel
Aloha Screwdriver - Cecilia Ann
Aloha Screwdriver - Tin Star Head Wound

Is this band a sort of visual metaphor for an Aloha Screwdriver?

Thanks Tuck! These are great.

That first track is called "Click, Bang, Boom". It's a new one we haven't recorded yet. The rest are spot on.

By the way, as a little plug, we're playing a free show in front of Thee Parkside tomorrow (Sunday) in San Francisco. We go on at noon. Details here:

You're welcome, Don! I've fixed Click, Bang, Boom's title. Thanks for letting me know the correction, and sorry for getting it wrong.

And now another band whose song names I don't know ...

The Delmars - First Song
The Delmars - Fourth Song

Also not sure if they prefer to be the Del-Mars, the DelMars or the Delmars. I've run into all three. I can use any help from their friends figuring this stuff out. They appear to be staples of the the KFJC fundraisers but not very active on line, including not here. By the way, there is a second guitarist hidden around the corner behind the baritone sax. This was a large band! They remind me a bit of the Centurions (except in sound) - two guitars, bass, drums, tenor and baritone sax, even an incidental percussionist. Vocals missing in this performance to accomodate the requirements of the gig. I think there is also or used to be keyboardist.

Sort of an Albatross from OZ? Dry and Shadowy, but appealing. Seems to call out for steel guitar and/or an organ.

Midnight Oil - Wedding Cake Island (1980)
Description discusses origin of song.

MO - WCI (live audio)

The Break - WCI
Live - members of Midnight Oil and Violent Femmes. Some other live versions by the Break available.

Apparently also recorded by the Atlantics, which may be the route into US repertoires.

Addition: Atlantics sample at http://www.delightfulrain.com.au/tracks.html

==== Additional Note ====

Adam at CloudsonMars thought enough of this song to send me a note about its Midnight Oil (1980) origins on YouTube. He's puzzled by the 1962 comment in the video, too.

Finally getting to the KFJC show and the missing second tape. Not actually missing, but buried under others more recent.

Trivalve - Sweepy Time

Unfortunately, missing about the first 30 seconds of this one.

Trivalve - Unknown #1

Actually, I believe this was their second number, though it is the first I was unable to identify.

Trivalve - Rocke & Loade

Trivalve - Black & Tan Fantasy

"Black And Tan Fantasy is a 1927 jazz composition by Duke Ellington and Bubber Miley."

Audio recordings of these from the show (except Unknown) are at http://trivalvesurf.com/.
