This is sort of marginal for this Forum, but I think it might interest some folks because of the "Texas voodoo surf" connection of Mustang Lightning. I believe there is an instrumental on the new CD, and there have certainly been instrumentals on past releases. Anyway, the sound will probably appeal unless you come at surf from a strange place, which about half of you do ...
The bands playing will be Mustang Lightning (Phil Deville), Voodoo Stingray (Stringray), and the Calf Branders (Lance Bakemeyer and Tony Nascar). Music somewhere in the rock & roll to Western range - your judgement on this may vary from mine. (You probably realize that surf music is about 25% rock, 25% Western, and 50% exotic and weird, right?)
This show or party will be at the Skylark Lounge on 140 South Broadway, Denver, CO, on Friday, January 28th beginning in typical Denver fashion around 9:00 PM, depending on how long it takes to wedge the gear into the Skylark's stage and pile the cases around the old piano. (Does anyone ever play that piano?) It'll probably run till about 1:30 or 2:00 AM. You may want to be there a little early to get a good spot as the Skylark has been pretty packed lately. If it gets crowded downstairs take a look upstairs. There's another bar up there with shorter lines, among other things.
See the Skylark's link for a map if you need it. Basically find Alameda and go to Broadway/Lincoln. Head north on Lincoln, turn left onto Bayaud, and then south on Broadway and start looking for parking. The club is on the east or left side, unless you are driving the wrong way on Broadway, in which case it is the East or right side. If you don't like what you hear wander north looking for something you do. If you don't like anything, God help you and try somewhere else. Colfax, or Five Points. Arvada, maybe.
There is actually parking behind the club, but I have never gotten there early enough to get in on it. I think the lot south of the club is still reserved for the Persian carpet place. It's always empty, anyway.

See the latter link for the inner history of the non-artsy ranges of Denver rock & roll. Also for two free CD downloads of VS material.
There's also an event page for this on FaceBook, put up by Will Jennings, if you need that to remember things like this.
