I'll be at the Philadelphia show on the 7th. Can't wait!

See ya the 7th in Philly! My girlfriend and I will be the real tall couple everybody else is trying to see around.

Hopefully we'll catch the Coffin Daggers the night before in NYC. That would make for a rather boss weekend.

Blanko Dave/The Mingo Creek Balladeers - acoustic folk rock, pop, blues, & originals
The Thrifty Discount DJs - 98% Vinyl, 100% Retro
The National Bird - original folk rock with gronky machinations and electric guitar explosions

I'll be there at the Middle East!

Really looking forward to MoAM! Not entirely sure what to expect from the other bands - myspace suggests we're in for a loud night. Earplugs... check.

Be safe on the road & see you there (and Morphball too, I believe)

40 Watt show was a great time last night. Got to hear them play "Time Bomb," which was cool. Sound was pretty washed out for Fiend Without a Face, but it was cool to finally see them. Recognized a few songs from the album (which I've not listened to in a long time), but Mastadon being the big deal that it is makes me wonder why Hinds is touring so much lately with Fiend w/o a Face.

Would love to hear a report on the merch they are selling - I know they have a new 7" out (with the sleeve made out of actual circuit boards!) as well as Astro guitar pedals from Sitori Sonics. Any other merch? New t-shirts?

I would like to know more about this as well.

I'll be there tonight!

I did a brief perusal of the merch table on the way in, but being on a financial mission lately I didn't look too hard. There were a couple of posters and I saw one for the effects pedals, but I thought that was a gimmick and didn't give it a second glance. The t-shirts on sale were exactly the same t-shirt I've been wearing totally ragged for the last 11 years (the NASA style one). No lie. I was disappointed. If I'd known there was a 7" out I might've gone for that.

Great show though, and better sound than the Atlanta gig I saw months back. One show-goer who was a bit older than me and had obviously been around before made happy drunken comment that the sound was perfect, just like it was in the old days. They ran outside to do the Tesla coil bit at the end of the show and the audience followed them, which I thought was funny (the 40 Watt didn't want them plugging the thing in there...can someone explain this to me?). Those guys are really pretty funny, especially Coco.

fun, fun, fun

my pictures came out bad but morphball should have some good ones as he was up front

www.surfintheeye.com

Yeah, great show. I was up front as well. Lots of old timers there . . . with young chicks. haha.

Star Crunch was breaking strings like a mofo. And those Mosrites gave me a stiffy.

The opening acts, uh. . . . Well, I guess I wouldn't want to open for MOAM. Tough gig.

Please post pics if you got any. My friend got a couple. I'll post them later.

As for the Merch . . . some custom pedals, some 3-D posters, MOAM DNA vials, albums, only one type of shirt. The coolest thing was the guitar straps made from seat belts.
