How do you like that guitar? I was thinking of getting one. They have a cool look. There was a great deal on Amazon.com
I like it a lot. There's a topic about the 800 here: http://www.surfguitar101.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=712

My band, The Howlin' Thurstons, has performed the following Link Wray Songs:
Jack The Ripper
Run, Chicken, Run
(seguing into the Inspector Clouseau theme from "The Pink Panther")
Guitar Cha-Cha
(with added parts)
IMHO, Rather than concentrating too much on exactly what note goes where, Giving Link the proper justice involves Cranking up the Nasty Factor to brain busting ferociousness.
Link Wray really IS God, you know....

speaking of link wray...........for those who may be interested.........
...... on Jan 26 at the 'BIRCHMERE' in Arlington, Va., Eddie Angel will be participating in a LINK WRAY TRIBUTE show; also on hand, DEKE DICKERSON, THE COLLINS KIDS, BILL KIRCHEN, and more......believe CHRIS WEBB (grandson of LINK) will also be part of the festivities
the birchmere is a cool venue in the DC area. no bad seat in the house and great sound.

Here's version of Jack The Ripper Wave Invasion did a couple of years ago when we were just jamming and feeling things out in the hopes of coming up with something that might be used for a film. It's done in the style of a video soundtrack and I've attempted to use the guitar to add the sound of footsteps running down an alley and screams in the night. It gets atonal in parts where I was attempting the screams but I was going after a feel more than trying to be faithful to the original.

That's a good one, but I think the Sir Finks version of Jack the Ripper is my favorite, and the Raybeats did a really nice one, too. Pollo del Mar on the tribute album Guitar Ace is pretty cool, too.
Do Davie Allan's various Missing Link renditions count?
Dave Wronski's acoustic Ace of Spaces on that tribute album is also something special.
