I was browsing the internet and came across the Fender cyclone. It is advertised as having Jaguar pickups. If I showed up to a surf gig wearing one would I be laughed out of the place? Have any of you tried it and what do you think?

There has been threads about this guitar in the past. Also check out the Cyclone II. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Laugh at you? Dang, heck no! that thing is all surfy. I think the only thing I would mock openly would be a pointy headstock guitar with the locking nut and 80's graphics —THe NEpTuNeS |

they look surfy enough. they're also pretty expensive. The only time I saw one 'in the flesh' was when Rory from the infrareds played one. I must say totally disliked his tone then, buthe was playinga orrowed amp so maybe he had trouble dialing in. anyone knows if he used it recording, the infrareds cd's have killer guitarsound imo. Im toying with the idea of getting a squier cyclone for cheap and upgrade it a tad for rhytm guitar purposes. WR —Rules to live by #314: |

Wannes, My guess is he used a little bit higher-grade gear for the recordings. ~B~ |
