Exactly what norcalhodad said about the sound and feel. Perfect soundtrack to those days long ago (early 70's) seeing Don Garlits and one or the other incarnations of his Swamp Rats here in FL., after the funny car events.

Thanks! Yeah, big Garlits fan here too. There's one of the Swamp Rats here at the NHRA museum in Pomona. Great museum... http://museum.nhra.com/

Yeah Norm - Speaking of Pomona, I live over near Raging Waters, just west of the dragstrip and I always know when the winternationals are going down.......Good Year blimp flying over the house, and the sound of 300+ mph runs every couple of minutes over 3 days! And they just keep getting louder and louder, and of course faster and faster. Reminds me back in the 70s when the original Irwindale Speedway was running. Yep Big Daddy Garlits, the Snake, Gene Snow(the Snowman)even Shirley Cha Cha Muldowney........woooHooo!!!

Thanks Man! Yep, Big Daddy, Snake, Mongoose, Cha-Cha, The Snowman, Jungle Jim and so forth. Names that are music to my ears. Irwindale still does the Mooneyes X-Mas party every year which I never miss... http://www.mooneyesusa.net/xmas-party-2011/

Once again, the pitfalls of my current location (and financial situation, or to be more precise, the lack of finances) become all to evident! Hopefully someday I'll finally be able to get down south to see you guy's, that is unless maybe any touring might be happening in the near future? Maybe come visit your neighbor state (to the north) for a date or two?

No major tour plans just yet but when we do, Portland is definetly a cool place to hit. Hope that's close to Medford.

It's only about 5 hours or so north of here. Medford is just about an hour or so north of the Oregon/Cali border.

No release date just yet. Just got back from recording. Got three out of the four songs in the can this afternoon/evening. Man, recording is hard work. Gotta get one more song in the can. I'll post some pics of us recording at Castle Magoo in the foothills of Eagle Rock soon.

It would be interesting to hear what type of studio you guys are recording at and what kind of songs you did choose to record. Also, are you planning for a self-release or do you have a label interested? Good luck with wrapping things up!

Regarding Weber's, I've only been there once, but drink prices increased once the bands started playing. Whether that is still the case, I don't know. But you have been forewarned! * wagging finger *

We recorded at a friends place, Danny McGough who works with and plays keys in Social Distortion. Great guy! I'll post a couple of pics soon.
We chose four original instrumentals, The Judge, Slingshot Burnout, 5th Horseman and Haunt Rod. We plan on doing vocals too, but these 4 songs are our favorites at the moment. Two are fuzz-based and two are reverb-based. We're not trying to copy a sixties sound exactly. We're kinda trying to develop our own sound.
