The Buzz Stop is a lot like those roller/tension bars you see on certain Bigsbys. Most Gretsch players seem to prefer Bigsbys w/out a roller bar - for the same reasons. It dampens the feel of the Bigsby, and in my experience, also makes the Bigsby tend to not always return to original pitch. Also, they dampen out those cool behind the bridge overtones that you get on offsets and archtops.

Yes it does.
Stormtiger beat me to it (I just found this thread). But since I'm here already, yes, it's a seamless transplant. I put a Fender USA JM/Jag trem assembly (part # 54466) on my CIJ a couple of months ago. No problems at all. You will need to order the US trem arm (#54473) as the CIJ one won't fit. My arm came with no plastic tip, so you may want to consider this when ordering because the Japanese tips are too wide for the US arm. I put some electrical tape around the end of the new arm, and the CIJ tip stays on snugly.
