Hi all,

Sold the house so we can build a new one. Gonna be in an apartment in the meantime. Also have a baby. So no loudness allowed.

I could, I suppose, plug into my USB interface, and headphone the laptop, but it seems likely that the laptop will become the primary computing machine (meaning my wife will use it a lot).

Any recommendations for headphone amps? Specifically, and with a second input channel for backing tracks and the like?

Thanks in advance.

Pick up a used Frontman off of craigslist for 20 bucks or so. It has a headphone out and a line in. Sounds like crap, but not much you can do about that. Vox makes a plugin that you can run a 1/8" headphone to.

You don't need an amp if you are just using headphones. I picked up a used Line 6 Floor Pod that has everything you described, just add a reverb tank. It has Twin Reverb and Vox AC-30 modeling among others. I've found it a great tool for late night playing and direct recording
