Haha, for me it's either Everybody Up! by The Fender IV or The Jester by Jim Messina and his Jesters. Those two songs represent what Surf music is too me. Some other fun songs that I like: Similau, Scattershield, Hearbeat is awesome too, and not my favorite but I really enjoy Fright by B. Brock and the Vibratos(track 17). — |

Speaking just for fun tunes I could listen to the insanity of Johnny Barakat & the Vestells "The Wedge" all day.

It is insanely hard to just pick just one tune, I would also have to add intruder by the surf coasters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AclEbIOaboE and the cossak by Jim Mussina and the Jesters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDvJVQW04r8 Can we make this a top ten?? |

http://surfguitar101.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=11092 Points to this variation on the topic for not starting off with a jump-blues song. I'm feeling lazy, so: — That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it. |

Baja. It's a simple song, but I never get tired of it. I collect every version I run across. Paul —Paul |

Harlem Bells by The Newport Nomads Both songs have a great feel, and the drumming is tasteful. Not to mention both have terrific guitar tones. Brazil for me is the best of a thoughtful sound and Harlem Bells just sounds mean and listen to that drummers single to double stroke roles on the snare. Carry on |

I'm all over the place. From classics like "Walk Don't Run", and "Lets Go Trippin'" to newer stuff - Pollo's "A Flash of Green" and FPB's "Ewa and Amber Waves" are quickly becoming an all time favorites. One of the lesser known Beach Boys hits - "Carl's Big Chance" from the 'All Summer Long' album is one of the surf songs I repeatedly listen too - I keep on meaning to try and learn it, but there's no tabs online for it, so I'm left plucking away by ear. The two songs that started the whole love affair with surf music off are "Surf City" by Jan and Dean (not sure if it's technically a surf song, but it introduced me to the genre), and "Surfer Joe" by the Surfaris. |

This is slightly pre-surf, but my fave is _Intoxica _by the Revels. It contains most of the elements I love in surf music: simple riff based melody, twang bar, low E bends, 12 Bar Blues form, my all time favourite ride cymbal pattern, and great bass line. I think I've had an _Intoxica _inspired tune on every release Urban Surf Kings have put out . Rev —Canadian Surf http://www.urbansurfkings.com/ Last edited: Apr 22, 2010 17:08:00 |

Don't know if anyone said this one, but one of my all-time favourite instros (mmm, not quite surf, an in-between one) may well be "Mark of Zorro" by The Challengers, gotta love those guys!! —"flash don't make cash" - Steve Cropper Born Losers on facebook |

Ok, that's a great one. I have a hard time narrowing these down to just one. I'm always wanting to hear "El Toro" by the Surfmen. —"Turn the knob to 10 and break it off!" -Baja Marty |
