After having some gear issues and in order not to rush things, we decided to move forward the originally intended spring release date. The album is now instead all set for a summer release on Double Crown Records.
Check out the promo video which also includes short sound clips from the side projects:

I'm sure it's going to be great but after such great album titles as "Escapades Spin Ace" and "Pig Bounder" I'm a little let down to be honest

Very clever concept. I like the attention to details; the song titles, the proper guitars and even the appropriate clothing of the cartoon characters.

Hey Shivers, it just dawned on me that I had the Surfink record you use as your avatar. The only song I remember is "There's a Dog Gone Ding in My Ding Dong Board". I imagine that it along with all my other old vinyl disappeared shortly after I moved out of my parents house. My Dad is a bit of a packrat, so I'm hoping he packed it away and forgot about it.

sorry if this was mentioned somewhere and I missed it.
Are you in all of these bands Klas?
I assumed it was a comp of different Scandinavian bands.
by the way,
it all sounds cool, can't wait to get it.

I'm guessing it's all done by the same people, just different band names for each style. It does sound cool! And a great concept!!

Same here. Besides the music, it's what I like the most about The Surfites. I'm really looking forward to the new album.

I'm glad you guys noticed all the stuff. To us, music has always been a lot more than just the sound of it.
As for the concept, as far as I know it hasn't been done since the mid 60's when Gary Usher and his studio projects released V/A albums consisting of different bands but having more or less the same guys playing in all of them. We took it a step further as our side projects are all in different instrumental styles (while Usher's usually were all hot rod groups).

Yes, the new bands are all side projects to the Surfites and consists of me and my brother Jack (notice how the cartoons are the same two guys but with different styles). Some or all of these side projects might very well get their own releases in the future meaning they are not just a part of the concept for this album.
Thanks everyone!

I think it's been done one other time - by the guys that are now in the Volcanos. The CD was titled "B-Movie Brain", and I think it dates back to the early '90s or so: http://www.instromania.net/D2/ALB/ALB_B/Div%20comp%20-%20B-Movie%20Brain.php
