Jake, Yep, it's an early Dual Showman with 2-15's The Original JBL D-130F's have been replaced with EV's, soon to be replaced with Weber Californias. The '62 Pro has a D-130F, though. —Jack Booth The Mariners (1964-68, 1996-2005) |

So the picture of the Showman, it doesn't say Dual Showman, but it's the Dual Showman circuit? Awesome, that's got to be worth a fair chunk of chain. |

'67 Dual Showman through a 2x15 cab loaded with a D-130 and a D-140f. I also have a '64 Twin. Plus, a modded reissue tank, and a vintage '66. ~B~ |

according to ampwares: showman form 63 on, DUAL script added in '64. so that's between 1 and 2 years for non-dual-script duals. but I browsed ampwares a little and I noticed something else. For blonde Duals (never seen one of those with the dual script btw) it states it has 2 15"-ers, 16ohm, parallel at 8.... So this must have been the earliest dual, with the original showman output tranny - most likely, dick dale then started blowing up trannies instead of speakers and then the OT as redesigned? with the 2x8ohm / 4 ohm together setup? any one can dconfirm or deny thattheory? btw, my main rig: '70 bassman blackfaced, with JBL d140 cab, Weber WR —Rules to live by #314: |

There is a great deal of confusion about the word "Dual" being on Dual Showmans. In the early days, they were all Showmans. Then at some point, the word "Dual" was added. And then, before CBS took over, I think they just used up whatever faceplates they had and you started seeing Dual Showmans with just "Showman" faceplates again. My '66 Dual Showman, for example, doesn't have the word "Dual" on it. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

I believe "DUAL" was added to the blackface showman logo in 1967. I may be wrong, but I've never seen an older one that was configured that way. —Jack Booth The Mariners (1964-68, 1996-2005) |

I had a Fender Frontman, but now I'm playing through a crappy little Crate practice amp until I receive my Showman. I haven't checked for sure, but I think it's a '64 or a '65. |

I've seen '64-'67 Dual Showmans on eBay with the words "DUAL" on them. And some that don't. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |
