Permalink reverb unit help.

New Topic

i had a sound city concord combo, but made a head out of it. the reverb unit sits on the bottom of the head, under the electrnics, and it has foam above and below it, and i put a small piece of cardboard under the unit to keep the foam from coming up and keeping the springs from moving.

would i get more reverb if it wasnt so confined? or are the springs inside the only things that really cant be touched? i know cocords arent really known for their reverb, but i dont think it's the original. plain and simple is im not getting enough reverb out of it. any suggerstions?

Is the pan on a different plane than it was when it was in the combo? The pans are made to be in a specific plane, (horizontal, open side down for example). If you have an accutronics pan, you can see a list of the codes on their website, that identifies how the pan should be mounted. That said, I don't know if that is your problem.

it was vertical, now its horozontal, it fits better that way.

could that be it?

Probably so... you gotta keep the pan the way it was stock -- besides, now your springs are fighting gravity!
