Anybody really familar with Cubase recording software? Especially in the L.A. or Ventura County area? I'm tryin' to mix down an original tune, transferred from a Korg 3200, but this program is like ancient Chinese to me.
If so, come on over to the home studio. I promise there will be beer and tacos involved.

Hi billy,
I'm quite familiar with Cubase, or at least the older version of it. That's the good news, the bad news is I live in the UK - of course I'm more than willing to pop over and show you for beer and tacos and the airfare....
Do you have to use Cubase? It's an incredibly powerful and creative package that is mind-blowingly difficult to use if you don't set it up properly. Try and find a book if you can, or there should be a user forum online.
An excellent alternative is Audacity, available free and very very easy to use. I don't use Cubase anymore, in fact. Audacity is quicker, easier and nicer.
Sorry I can't be more help!

Thanks for info. Ron. Hmnn. I wonder if it's possible to transfer the file to Audacity from Cubase. Hmnn.

Good luck with it. Cubase is a seriously good package, but whether you get the return from it for all the time you have to invest in learning it is another thing. I think Cubase is the business for MIDI-based music, but if you are using live instruments then Audacity is better.
You can usually by a Cubase guide off ebay for not much. Like a fool, I lent mine to someone and of course I never got it back. It's probably on ebay as I type!

Thanks for the tips guys! I'm startin' to have some fun with it now. Just gotta get rid of some of the snap, crackles and pops.
I re-did an original called "Out Of Control". This time with Adrien Anthony on drums, and Jon Paul Balek on Bass. Should be interesting when the mix is done.
Thanks,
Billy

hey dudes, im new here. I just started using Cubase as well after years of using an Akai 16trk recorder. So far, Cubase blows! Billy, u should be able to convert your Cubase file to wav or mp3 and open it in Audacity one way or another. I think i'm going to switch to Audacity until i can afford aproper ProTools rig.
