Permalink Some "surfy" garage songs to play live

Just the day before yesterday I noticed that there is a pretty solid overlap between the list of songs sung by surf bands and the list of songs included in The Greatest Hits of the Kingsmen. Some differences in guitar sound, but not much in vocals. And the Kingsmen aren't even usually as good as the surf bands at this material, either.

You have to remember that 1963 was the year of both Wipeout and Louie Louie. The chronology of myth is a bit cleaner than the chronology of history.

I'd do Runaway, with or without organ. Lots of minor stuff in there. Not exactly garage, but could be done nicely surfy.
