Reserved Seating: $5 per seat (in addition to Show Only ticket fee)

Surf will be up when The Thornbury Theatre hosts the first ever High Street Beach Party.

The sets will be coming in fast and furious for what will be a fine celebration of the raw power and beauty of Surf music and the beach in Australian culture. A genre that has had as far reaching and diverse influence on guitar bands as any in the history of rock.

Catch the inimitable BEACH CHROMERS with their scintillating and twisted original sci-fi surf confusion, Channelling Link Wray, Midnight Oil and The B-52s in a warped blend of dirty guitar, sixties organ and thumping toms.

Don’t miss the exquisite 60’s sounds of Brian Wilson’s Love Children THE BEACHY BOYS. Five part harmonies Theremin and all. One of local Northcote musician, Gavin Grey’s pet projects since the wonderful Quarrelmen’s Beatles tributes.

Melbourne’s God father of surf himself, JACK NORTON of the REEFERS will be returning from the wilds of Surfistan with his hypnotic middle eastern surf beats.

Special MC for the night will be the outrageous and irresistible DJ EDDY, direct from The Fall’s Festival. Keeping you entertained with beats and party tricks.

Not for Squares.

I know it's miles away for most, but good to see the genre getting a look-in and plenty of promo on local independent radio Cool
