That is a good deal. I own one and have started to play it in my current band for the heck of it. The other guys like it. The P-90-like DeArmond 2Ks are a little bit too heavy for surf but it works for some stuff. Although you can get cheap Asian import hollow bodies all over the place nowadays, this is a single-cutaway, thinline with single coils. I am not sure of anyone else making another like it. — |

I would try to get that one. It is a well-made guitar and with the impossible-to-find case it makes it an easy and profitable flip if you choose to liquidate. If you decide you are unhappy with the pickups, of course Gretsch Dynasonics (or DeArmond 2000s) will fit in the holes with no mods. FYI, here is mine...maybe a bit porny, but you get the idea. Nice and thin. |

"porny" ... there's a word I haven't heard applied to guitars before. Plus! Other stuff not surf: https://soundcloud.com/jamesmileshq |

Thanks for the Surf related comments on the pickups. There was a Starfire for sale in my neck of the woods. I assumed it was a newer (Fender/Guild) DeArmond. I figured if it was an older one the pickups would be worth more than the asking price, which was $550. |

Nice guitar! I have a DeArmond M-77T in "6120 Orange" that I love. It has the "Digsby" Vibrato & U. S.-made Dynasonics. The neck pickup was a little weak, but a buddy made a shim & installed it to raise the pickup and BANG-instant Duane Eddy! |

I participated in a benefit with Fender several years ago and spoke at length with a regional Fender mgr. He said despite all the stories re: |

kenpo, I have always wanted a T-400 and currently have a Starfire reissue that I got from Fritz here. I'm going to contact the seller and ask a few questions. I'm sending you a PM. —The Mystery Men? |

I've got a T-100, and I must say these guitars have really wonderful bodies and the necks set into them quite nicely. Also, just a great acoustic sound out of them as well. An alternate timbre, if you will. The weight and thin body is really nice. Mine is one of the lightest guitars I've ever held. You don't notice you are holding it, but it is a very solid guitar. |

Jake: the T-100 is a different animal. You are talking about an old Guild Slim Jim, like with the Mickey Mouse pickups and Florentine cutaway? Actually, the T-400 is slimmer still (1-3/4 inches vs. 2 inches.) Cool guitars, though! I especially pine for a T-100D with Guild Bigsby and the old Franz P-90s. Mmm... — |

I'd like to have the Franz myself. I have the slight precursor to the Mickey Mouse pickups. And mine has a Bigsby Bigsby. Somebody put that on afterwards. |

been searching for Franz pups fro ever. the secrets out and the prices are insane. These pups cut through the mix like crazy. T100D, CE100D are on my shortlist. |

The prices aren't that insane. T-100s with Franz pickups are a very reasonable price for a vintage instrument. Cheaper than new American made instruments. |

im just talking individual pickups. the last ones is seen were 300+ each. |
