Just saw Daikaiju a couple of nights ago in Nashville, and they were awesome. Tight music, great stage show - if you ever get a chance to catch these guys, definitely do so!! They were a last minute stand in for another band, so I'm glad they were able to make it to Nashvegas!!

Yeah, they played here in St. Louis several years ago and blew everyone away. Good to know they're still around.

They are an awesome sight to behold, that's for sure.
Kudos on the Mad Monster Party avatar.

You beat me to it drgangrene!! That's what I get for procrastinating.
Eddie Katcher and I were chatting about them as we watched them closed the Clarkston Surf Fest. It was my first time seeing them, and I was UTTERLY FLOORED. What an amazing experience! SUPER friendly guys as well. I said it to Eddie then, and I'll say it again now...
not enough fuss is made about this band. period.
kaijusaafu - it was great to meet you guys! Hopefully we'll get to play with y'all again really soon!!!

Yeah these guys put on one of the coolest, trippiest shows I've ever seen. So amazing. In fact, they do it so well it always weirds me out to be reminded that they're actually human beings.

A pity I cannot get to see any of those, due to great distances.
In the meantime, what's the story on "Phase 5"? Is this a new CD?
Also, any possibility of a re-issue of "The Phasing Spider Menace" CD?

I have a 3 year-old son. He has been on the earth about 38 months. Recently, he has taken quite a liking to Daikaiju. As a matter of fact, whenever I strap him into the car seat, he states "I want to hear the 'hot music'" (a.k.a. Daikaiju). This phrase is repeated until I play the song "Daikaiju Die!" on the CD player. Then, there is a pause and (like clockwork) he says: "this certainly is 'hot music'". He then asks for the CD cover and intently studies the artwork for the rest of the car ride. When we reach our destination and the music stops, there is an immediate protest of: "I waaaant to hear the 'hot music'", "I waaaant to hear the 'hot music'", "I waaaant to hear the 'hot music'"!
I happen to carry a Pedro del Mar (Los Straitjackets) mask in the car (dont we all?). Today, as I was going through the daily motions of handing the CD case back, I noticed he was wearing it in his car seat. As part of the same car ride, he has started to say "ouch" whenever a particularly raucous part of a song is played.
So, for all car rides today, there was a 3 year-old strapped in a car seat, wearing a Pedro del Mar mask, demanding 'Hot Music' and saying "ouch".
I believe I have literally created a monster.
Typical Midwestern family really.

GREAT story, Jet! It made my day.
It's nice to know that there are parents out there raising their kids right!
