Good calls. And, I've always liked the Eliminators' sax work, too. Not sure if it's always the same guy.

It's always been Billy Swanson since the bands inception since 1993. The guy can play. Cool cat & a great surfer too. Lots of stuff of him in action on you tube.

I've always said horns are the most underutilized instruments in modern rock music. That and the wail Wink

Thank you, HBK. I appreciate knowing that, though, of course, I'm pretty embarassed not to have known it, too. For some reason names have always given me grief. Agreed, Bill Swanson can totally play! (The rest of the band's not bad either, of course.) I think somebody told me at the SG101 meeting that he's been playing sax since high school or earlier back in THE day, too?

Also plays flute (as on the Eliminator's The Breeze and I), and appears on sax in Jon & the Nightriders' Fiberglass Rocket LP (something I haven't heard) at least, as well as in the Eliminators' work. Plus I'm guessing that's him in the lengthy jazz thing The Pillory ("Bill Swanson, sax & flute") , and maybe he's the guy writing jazz reviews, though there's also a keyboardist of the name.

With the Carl Wilson thread going on 7 pages now, I think the real question is: Can Mike Love be considered a surf saxophonist? Wink

Be at one with the universe. If you can't do that, at least be at one with your guitar.
