A while ago, someone posted something about what prices of guitars were back in the late 50's early 60's also how you can calculate these numbers into our money values. Can someone direct me to this or repost the information.
If nobody did that here I am sorry, this is not the only board I post on.

Are you thinking of this article from the SG101 Links (Gear) section?

thanks man, that is the one. Wow, that really puts things into prespective. It seems like only the rich would have been able to afford Fender Gear.
We should probably appreciate AVRI Strat, Jag, or Jm being around 1,200. Those guitars will last a lifetime and sound great.

Wow...I just plugged into the 2005 calculator and got the following figures for my first "good" surf setup:
'64 Fender Jaguar - $368 in '64, $2317 in '05
'65 Fender Bandmaster -$390 in '65, $2415 in '05
'63 (used) Fender Reverb tank - $45 in '65, $283 now

Here's some info I quickly tracked down on a '66 Mosrite Ventures Model
Then: $398.00 + $54.00 for the case.
Now: I don't know $1,600 or so
Here's some more perspective on buying power.
