Got a new one for ya. Here's some Surf Trio footage from Bellingham, 1995 with a studio version of "Out of Limits." I'd sort of forgotten we'd even recorded this song. Check out the channel, tell your friends, rate the videos, etc.

Yeah, it took me a while to remember this one.
I think it was released on BloodRed's version of "Curse of the Surf Trio".
I think NEAT STUFF must have used at least part of it.
We used to record a lot and it's not always easy to remember those days..
I wrote "Salt Bath".
Pete named it; that was a good one.
It wasn't easy to play.
After a while I'd write things like "Salt Bath" at home and teach the lead parts to Pete.
I was thinking "God, I don't want to be expected to play this on stage!"
Pete could though!!!!
It's on a euro 45 but I think Jeff stuck that on something ,too.
Jeff, you said you were gonna send me some records

Yeah we did "Perfidia".
That was one of the first songs we ever did.
We recorded that one much later for the NEAT STUFF" show but I can't remember if it's on a record or cd.
I wrote a medley we did live that had Perfidia in it I think along with Batman, Out of Limits, Telstar, etc.
I remember the Nightriders doing a medley like that so created my own.

"Vibrosurf" is a Pete Weinberger creation.
Go to BloodRed.com and get another copy of the CD.
It think "Vibrosurf" is on "Forbidden Sounds".
(I wish I had one!)

Cool. Yeah, "Forbidden sounds" was the album I had. LP thats cool. I like that you guys made an LP of the album. I think all surf groups should do that. Im trying to get all of SPs LPs and I see I can buy Dueling Jags. Ill buy that and the CD. Wish you had one what? Why'd u guys name the group Surf Trio if u wher 4 dudes? Didn't like the drummer? Haha j/k.

I wish I had a copy of "Forbidden Sounds".
I gave my last copy away.
The Surf Trio WAS a trio when we first started,
Pete, Me and Aaron.
We would switch playing the bass or guitar depending on the song.
I was already in a band with Dave Meyer and when he recorded the first EP on his reel to reel 4 track I guess we asked him to join.
I don't think we did that many gigs with him.
Jeff, a drummer and I did a video for somebody's project at the U of O.
with a band I was trying to form.
(Remember that Jeff? Where is that tape!")
I asked Jeff to join after Dave moved to Portland from Eugene.

Yeah, i dig you guys too. I always thought it would be cool to have a three piece and both guitarist use a doubleneck with bass and guitar and switch off. I think that would be rad.
But, anyway, I dig Forbidden Sounds. What are you guys up to now?

As far as the bass/ guitar switching thing, we only did it out of necessity; it's kind of a weird thing to do if you don't have to.
Oh, I'd like to get the Surf Trio going again.
Jeff is in Portland and had a version of the band with Pete for a while without me so things get complicated.
Pete is in Eugene and I'm in Clatskanie.
I tried for a while to find some label interest or European tour agents interested but nothing has really come of it.
I'd like to just record another L.P. for the hell of it.
Every time I go to Portland to see Jeff for a beer, I do bring up
the "re-union" thing.
I think he's too much of a nice guy and doesn't want to upset
later members of the band.
But hey, I don't think a re-union of Pete, Me and Jeff and whatever drummer gives a shit would step on too many toes.
Money and time unfortunately are issues as well..............................
