Permalink '95 Fender Blues Deluxe for sale

New Topic

I am selling my Blues Deluxe for $525. I'm the original owner, and I've had it since late '95. (In fact, it was the first Fender amp I ever owned.) It's one of the original limited edition blonde-tolex-with-oxblood-grille models. In case you're not familiar with this model, it's an all-tube 40W amp with a 12" speaker, reverb and two channels (kinda - they're not completely independent, but you can switch between clean and dirty sounds), the circuit patterned after the classic tweed Bassman. I bought it from a store in Northern Virginia, where it was a floor model. It's seen very mild use over these last 13 years. I used it for at most 2 or 3 gigs in that time (all in the nineties with the Space Cossacks). It's mostly sat in my house, where I would occasionally play it. Oh, and I used it for some of the Space Cossacks recordings. It was the second amp (in addition to my Fender Vibrasonic) on Solaris Stomp, Black Sand, Moroccan Adventures, Gunmetal Express, Tsunami Tsurprise, Fiesta del Cossacapulco, a few more - any time I was using my Jazzmaster, I'd use this amp as the second amp (instead of the AC30).

The only modification was that I replaced the original Eminence speaker with a Weber (ceramic) California 12" speaker (their attempt at a JBL D120F copy - with a ceramic instead of an alnico magnet) back around '99 or '00. So, the speaker is well worn-in by now. I also had my amp tech increase the max reverb setting a bit. The amp actually sounds pretty good, but I just bought a Deluxe Reverb reissue and don't need this one anymore. Also, owning a Showman and an AC30 and a Dual Pro, well, it didn't get much playing time. (It could probably use a new set of tubes all around, as the ones in there right now are not anything special.)

The tolex is generally in very good shape, with only a few spots of mostly light discoloration, but really not bad for a 13-year-old amp. There are two blemishes in the tolex, and they were both there when I bought the amp - one on the front bottom panel, and one in between the handle and the control panel (check out the pics). (There's also a small tear on top of the back quarter-panel, but it's hardly noticable.) Otherwise, the amp is in really great shape. It comes with the original footswitch (still in its plastic wrapper!) and all the original paperwork, the schematic, the component layout, the owner's manual, even the Fender sticker! Oh, and also the black Fender cover.

I'd rather sell it here than on eBay. If $525 is too high, make me an offer and I'll consider it. I'll give it a week or so on SG101 and then it goes on eBay. The shipping paid by the buyer, and I'll only charge the exact shipping, and no handling charges.

Thanks!
Ivan

So, nobody's interested? I've got a couple of busy days ahead, but I'll put the amp on eBay on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Unfortunately, the sale on eBay fell through, so I had to relist the amp. In case anybody's interested, it's here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140258654824

Two days to go to the end of the auction.

Thanks.

It's a slooow market. Now is certainly the time to be buying gear.

That's a pretty cool looking amp. Would actually be perfect for me.
