food. You just have to buy the food.
I would like to thank Slacktone for being my first band that I have
booked for a show.
5214 W. Sunset Boulevard few blocks East of the 101 freeway.
Noon to 4:30
all ages.
get there early for good parking in the 99cent store parking lot,
it fills up fast.
Hope to see you there.

Thanks for comin out to the show man,
I was really happy to see who I did.
I got about 15 people there.
and there was a total of about 30 including all the bands.
needless to say that wasn't enough, and the club actually lost money after paying the bands, and giving them food.
I hope more people come out to the July and Aug. shows.
otherwise these 3 will be the only ones.
Look people its (free) (daytime show).
those of you who complain about not liking to go out to clubs late at night.
its all ages, there was a few people that brought kids.
they have great food, and some people didn't buy food, which is how
the club makes the money to pay the bands for these day shows.
ugh,
I'm happy the show was good,
but very disillusioned with the turnout.
surprised?
no.
thanks again to Slacktone for playing for us.

Lousy turnout it seems. But what a cool line-up and excellent flyer! Good luck with the next couple of bookings...!

Look people its free daytime show.
those of you who complain about not likign to go out late at night.
Jeff,
Sorry to hear about the low turnout. But, it takes a long time to get the word out and build up a following for a daytime event.
Keep at it!

Hey man, how many times do we get the chance to hear Slacktone for free?
I'd never be able to handle living in LA, unless it was on the beach, which I don't think I'll ever be able to afford! But you've got to admit, most people down there are friendly, and there are some SUPER bands that you'd get to see a lot more often if you lived down there (like Jeff). I am glad that its about a days drive away. In July when the Pyronauts return to the Purple Orchid and Huntington Surf Museum it will be our third trip down this year!
Jeff, you can't expect your first show to go over perfectly! Promotion baby! You've got to build a new crowd! Don't focus so much maybe on everyone that's already in the know.... maybe try to reach others and enlighten them? Keep on surfin'!

Sorry I missed you guys this week-end Jeff, Freddie, and everybody else. Wanted to be there.
The Detonators are bonin' up for a gig at the L.A. Zoo, 4th, 5th, and 6th of July.
They want 3 hours of Surf and Rock tunes. That means some vocal tunes. ooooouuuu, yucky. Did I say vocals?
For $400 clams each band member, for each day, I guess I would even grab a ukuele and play Tiny Tim songs.........
"Tip toe thru the tulips"...........

Jet it was great to meet you,
hope that drink wasn't too strong for ya.
its an asskicker for sure.
I had another at the restaurant next door, and part of a Mai Tai at another place later that evening.
we went back to the tiki ti about 9:30 and decided we had drank enough.
let me know next time you come to town, as I dont always post everything that is happening show wise.

Yeah - by the time I got back to the hotel, I only had a few minutes before I had to meet up with the dinner crew. We kept rolling 'til about 2a (they didn't seem too sympathetic about my head start).
I will let you know next time I am back in the area. I sounds like, from your post on TC, that I missed some late-afternoon hot rod show antics.

Jet,
it was more just a few hot rods, and a art show.
nothing huge.
