I was horribly disappointed in the Blue Stingrays album. I think I listened to it once. Maybe it was too subtle for me, but I found it boring. The video was ok, but I also agree on the length and it was too "jam-y". Surf and jam doesn't go together very well, IMHO. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Yeah, so it might have lacked the drenching reverb, and the whole medley/interpolation thing isn't really my cup of tea, nor is the overuse of the trem in some cases, but, all in all, I think this clip is a good one and definitely deserves my respect, so here's to you, frilly-shirted, free-credit-report.com-looking, '80's hair-having, surf-guitar-playing Mike Campbell! Thanks! It's good to see one of mainstream rock music's most well-known sidemen giving props to surf. This guy is one of the greatest and most under-rated current mainstream rock guitar players, and he's not a bad surf player, either. I wonder if they followed that tune with a rendition of "Heartbreakers Beach Party"... |

I agree dp, I really appreciate what they tried to do, and the songwriting is great at some points. but the playing/production is really boring. Rules to live by #314: |
