Hell YES! Ampegs can make really good surf tones. Personaly, I like the ReverbRocket with the two 12's. The Super Jets are really nice amps also. My ex-wife had the Reverb Rocket, It was LOUD! She used to work for St. Louis Music so we got good deals. I bought a B100 Bass amp in the diamond blue tolex. Still have it. You would be well served with the Super Jet. And to the main point, they have really nice reverb for a combo type amp. Enjoy!

Ab-surf-lutely! and garage, rockabilly, and exotica, too!

Wow! I'm glad to read that!

The problem is that I want a practice amp for home and I live in a block, so 40W is pretty overkill... anyway, I am still haggling over the price. Let's see.

If I recall, the tremolo is fantastic and the reverb is mediocre. Vintage Ampegs have incredible reverb, but the new ones aren't the same. Still a fine amp though.

Well, I got it! It's my first serious amp!! I was playing using emulation software through studio monitors... nothing to do with the tube amp.
I love the ampeg!

BTW It's pretty loud for home, my neighbors are going to love it too Smile

I posted a pic in the "Main rig" thread!!!

Thanks for the comments!

Nice! Yeah, those things are pretty loud, but really nice amps. I have a couple of vintage Reverberockets and Portaflexes- I love Ampeg gear. Good luck with it!
