I hope it's not too late for me to weigh in with a review too...Thanks again to the Secret Samurai for hosting a rocking surf party. The Tiki is a great crowd, very enthusiastic, and we received a lot of nice comments....I hope it wasn't just those 40oz. Stone Pale Ale talking.
The Samurai were on fire. Steve's bass sounded like the thunder over Mt Fuji and Ryan's newly mended Showman was a reverb and lightning breathing monster. The new drummer Bill, did a great job and you could tell he's been doing his homework...he never missed a beat through all the twists and turns. A very animated guy and a lot of fun to watch. I think a great fit for the band. I wish them all well as they tear it up this summer.
A couple of the Samurai highlights for me...Bakersfield, L'Ultimo Basamento, Dark Eyes, and a blazing version of Surf Party. Well done guys.
Also, I finally got my copy of Gun Sho Gun and it has been playing non-stop. My wife is going nuts...but what an awesome CD.
Warning: Do not listen to this CD while driving!
