RobbieReverb Joined: Feb 28, 2006 Posts: 2342 San Jose, Ca.	Posted on May 06 2008 01:53 AM I saw Roy over a dozen times, and had the good fortune to meet him at one of the shows. He was probably the most mind-blowing guitarist that I ever saw. One night late in the second set, he was way out there, and took off on this encyclopidia of guitar styles jam. The other guys in the band are looking at each other with these "WTF" looks on their faces, trying to keep up, and hanging on for dear life. Roy proceded to run through every style of guitar playing imaginable: blues, rockabilly, Chet Atkins country, jazz, Les Paul style pop, slide and pedal steel guitar (without a slide!!!), Indian raga, Hendrixian psychedelia, several styles of rock, and SURF!!! (He managed to work "Tel Star" and "Walk Don't Run" into this 20 minute plus stream-of-consciousness improvisation). It was a once in a lifetime, never to be repeated treat that I'll never forget. Then he closed with his tour-de-force "The Messiah Will come Again", and proceded to take it up a few notches. If you haven't heard Roy, be sure to check him out.
