Holy Shit!!!

Please, please, please come to the west coast!!

Science friction burns my fingers.

If they don't I'm going there. I have to go back East anyway at some point this year.

That's great news! Does anybody now if they will be supporting a new album?

They were supposed to be doing a 20 year anniversary 'best of' CD.

I know they were originally planning to go West and Texas too, not sure if they're still planning that or not?

even though I was not crazy about the last cd they did, I would love to see them again.
I really hope they come visit us out West.
Just not August or Sept.

I think NY 79, the tune which opens GLOBAL WARMING, the CD you refer to B.T.D., is one of the coolest tunes I have ever heard

I cannot get enuf of that tone of guitar Mikko - really great to listen to on their CDs, and LIVE....just spectacular

this is amazing news of 2 great bands doing some dates together

Freddie, I am not saying its bad, just not my bag daddy O
and I am not afraid of music outside of the norms of Trad surf.
but its just weird to me.
Maybe the title of the song speaks to you more than the music????

Have you heard the 1st and 2nd cd by them, late 80's or early 90's
most people dont know about those cds.
pure surf heaven,
the mid 90's stuff is great too.
and I even liked the progressive Absurdistan cd.

But Global Warming, leaves this reviewer cold.
sorry different strokes for different folks.

yeah I have their whole catalogue, and I agree they have evolved and strayed away from their more purer trad-like surf roots

note, I wasn's answering your post about 'their last CD', just droppin' in my 2 cents about that tune; when YepRoc had sent me that CD, I dropped it on, and that came out, and I went nutz over it, kept playing and playing it, before I even got to the rest of the CD!!! There's just 'something about' that song.....the keyboards, the change of pacing, the refences to the sixties garage (at least I hear it faintly),,,,dunno, the band just turns me on

I also agree from a 'surf' standpoint, that CD might leave one 'cold' despite its 'warm' title....but when they were around in 2004 supporting it, their live renderings of it were mesmerizing

1 other thing, no idea what NY 79 is a reference to, sounds like at the beginning of the song a crowd is counting down to New Years??? The NY reference means nothing to me; simply, I just dig this band and allow them to fit into a broad category of 'surf', while at the same recognizing they are miles away from what many folk define as 'surf'

to me, it's all welcome and all good....give me instro, give me some reverb, some twang.....I'll take it gratefully

A few people I know were wondering if the LSJ's will be all instro for this leg of the tour?

last time I saw them was at Linda's Doll Hut...

was that in 96 with the Wipeouts(to become the Deoras) and the Bomboras?

or in 2000 or so, with Agent Orange?

as far as I know this fall tour with LAIKA is WITHOUT BIG SANDY, so one can assume it's "all-instro"

there are some dates in 2008 w/BIG SANDY however
