If you folks don't know about it, there is a great magazine that came out a cople of years ago or so, called fretboard journal. They decided the world had enough guitar god mags that recycled clapton, hendrix and satriani and made a coffee table style quarterly. The articles are wonderful, and cover a wide variety of subjects of interest for guitar geeks (even the neptunes in issue 5). It's a mag that you can truly read cover to cover. Issue one goes for over $200 on ebay. It's subscription based, I highly recommend it to anybody who loves the guitar!
They are kind to the surf set for sure!

Surfneptune,
WOW!! You see, it just goes to show you, when you think you know a lot, you quickly discover,
"U DON'T KNOW NUTTIN."
All this time, I stayed away from the Fretboard Journal, thinking it only dealt with Acoustic Instruments.
Everytime I saw it at the Bookstore, there was always somebody holding a Mandolin, Banjo, or an old
Acoustic. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate these instruments as well, but I thought that's all they dealt
with. After reading your post, and checking their "ABOUT US" column, man, was I WRONG!
Thanx for the INFO!! :thumbs-up:!

If you can afford it, The Fretboard Journal is a great read (sort of the Architectural Digest of guitar magazines). They've had some great discussions on amp and pedal building as well as some really in depth interviews (the one with Steve Cropper was fun). Unfortunately, the back issues are nearly impossible to get at a reasonable cost. I saw one w/a Neko Case interview go for over $50 on eBay...crazy.

The article on Carr amps and the Latest on Victoria were awesome, the guy at Victoria tracked down a retired worker from the company that supplied the trannys for Fender, he had taken all the notes and specs with him when he retired! some of which had Leo's Signature!!! So Victoria has exact Transformer specs... That article made me want to try one of his amps big time!
Ruhar! DIGGIN the new disk! Great tones! Nice production too! I'll post that in your thread when I've had a couple more spins!
