Permalink Black Widow (Link Wray) chord question

New Topic

Question Hello . I just found the site and i have to say its a good feeling to know that there are lots of people out there just like me Anways heres my question. Ive been trying to learn the song black widow by Link wray(its really not all that complicated just a repeating riff) Anyways ive got the riff part down. The part that i cant seem to get is thechord part in the middle. Im pretty sure its just a sliding chord shape .I just dont know which and where to play. Can anybody out there help me out?

I'm just going from memory off the top of my head, but isn't the whole song just a 12 bar blues in E, with that riff playing through it?

I think the chord part in the middle that you're referring to is simply the E shape (top 3 or 4 strings only) played at the 12th fret very rapidly, then it moves down to the A at the 5th fret, same shape, played at the same rythm & tempo, then back to E at the 12th fret...

great great song-- I'm trying to expand my Link Wray repetoire, but I'm only up to about a half-dozen or so... must... keep... going...
