Leadership Hermosa Beach is hosting a fund raiser for the Dewey Weber statue & fountain to be built at Hermosa Beach City Hall.
Location: Sangria - 68 Pier Ave, Hermosa Beach, California 90254 reservations - 310.376.4412. Local surfer & surf guitar legend EDDIE BERTRAND will appear with The Eliminators! More details after March 10...

not only you can see eddie & the amazing eliminators

This will be like the who's who of the surfing world. It will be a bring the camera day. I'm told there is a strong possibility of Surfer mag coming on board as a sponsor as well.

The TakeOffs support this event 100%. What a cool statue to a surfing legend.....we've been wearing Dewey Weber t-shirts as our "uniform" for 3 years!! Of course being from Hawaii won't allow us to be there, but we would like to send some $ to help support the cause.

Some updated info:
Cost:$35 in advance $45 at the door.
Description:Leadership Hermosa Beachs class of 2008 is pleased to announce they will be hosting an event to support the Hermosa Beach Surf Legends Gateway Fountain project. The proceeds from this exciting Surf themed event will go towards the commissioning of a beautiful bronze fountain statue designed by artist Phil Roberts. The location of the fountain will be at the Hermosa Beach Community Center on the southwest corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Pier Ave. This location is Hermosa Beachs Gateway to the City and the fountain will be a monument to our citys surfing heritage.
The event will include fabulous food, a no host bar, two popular surf bands, The Eliminators, along with surf guitar legend Eddie Bertrand, and local band Thin Ice, featuring Body Gloves own Russ Lesser, surf videos and an incredible silent auction. The event will be held this summer at Sangria at 68 Pier Avenue, on Sunday June 29th, from 2pm to 7pm. Tickets go on sale for $35.00 before the event and $ 45.00 at the door.
