Permalink Bells and Horns in the Back of Beyond

I just came into possession of some old CDs, Red Sails in the Sunset by Midnight Oil was among them. I hadn't heard it since about 1986 and I was surprised to hear what I believe is a heavy Atlantics influence in the song Bells and Horns in the Back of Beyond. It is quite a full fledged surf instro after the vocal intro. I can email an MP3 if anyone is interested...PM me.

That is a pretty cool tune. And better than the vocal part, IMHO. They have at least one other instrumental, "Wedding Cake Island".

I have a buddy who's a big Midnight Oil fan who says that they actually started out as a surf band. Maybe now that Peter Garrett is busy being the Minister of the Environment, the rest of the band could go back to playing surf.
