Permalink Rickshaw Records DIY Ribbon Mic Write-up!!

New Topic

Greetings fellow recording gurus...

If you get Tape Op Magazine, Check Page 80 of the Jan/Feb issue for a review of my own DIY Ribbon Mic plans.

If you don't get Tape Op, sign-up... It's FREE and actually one of the better recording magazines out there. Well worth every penny:

(More than just the instro-guitar player in CHUM and fledgling indie record label owner... Now a serious microphone designer!!!)

Complete DIY Ribbon Microphone plans available from:

Way to go, Rick!!! I just got my issue today, and now that you pointed it out, I REALLY dug reading the review.

Mad props, brutha.

Has it already been mailed out? I get TapeOp but haven't seen that issue in my mailbox yet...

I still haven't gotten around to building a mic yet either (but have the plans ready). For now it's taking a backseat to my other projects (restore Bandmaster, build 1x12 cabinet, build Reverb unit) Very Happy

cool! i'll have to check it out...the newest TapeOp arrived in the Mojave Desert mailbox about a week ago, but I still have a bunch left to read still...

Great article Mr. Rickshaw...makes me want to get out my soldering gun and give your design a shot. BTW: this month's edition of TapeOp is fantastic. Several great articles on sonic dyamics...and several very cool studio reviews...an article by Jamie Laboz...and even some stuff about Joshua Tree CA...

Thumbs Up

Nice work Rick!
