I know that the group "Man or Astro-Man" did a version of it, but I'm not sure if they actually wrote the tune....

It's a cover, credited to Black/Garvey. The original is "Super Jet Rumble," by the Breakers ... I think.

<edit> It's also called "Jetstream."

Man or Astroman? lifted the tune from a cassette tape of sci-fi surf tunes I made them for potential cover material, back in the day. They renamed it, as they did with some other tunes: "Wayward Nile" (Chantays) became "Wayward Meteor"; "The Birds" became "Bird's Stuff", etc.
