A friend had this old amp sitting around (for about 12 years) that wasn't working too well so she gave it to me to figure out. The thing is so old that nothing comes up when googling on its make and model number: Randall RK 120-115H. It is solid state, 200 watts, 3 separate channels, one large round speaker and another rectangular speaker stuck over on the side of the box.
Inside it has an old reverberation unit which basically looks like a metal box with three metal springs in it. It is wired so the elecricity goes in one end and comes out the other. Freaky! The unit is just floating in there so if you bump the amp when its on it sounds like Armageddon or something. Really makes the cats jump out of their skin.
Another screwy thing about the amp is how easy it feeds back. If the master gain is above about a third the way open it makes this hideous banshe-like noise. I have not used solid state amps much before so maybe that is just the kind of punishment these things hand out?
To my amazement, after messing with the knobs a little I was able to get it to work and it doesn't sound half bad (better for the bass or keyboard, but I still prefer my DeVille for guitar). Anyone with any info, history or witty reparté on this thing would be appreciated.

p.s. The 200 watts is probably Peak Power or the power
consumption to run the amplifier.
