A few weeks ago I used my Inno to record Wax Your Woody and the Sandals' Wingnut's Theme was among the songs I caught. I find myself listening to that one over and over. What a great song, terrific sense of composition and style.
Anybody else like that song as much as I do? What CD is that on, and is it available?

Yes, I like Wingnut's theme too. I always thought it seems to have a little Slacktone vibe.

The Space Cossacks used to perform that song regularly around '97 or so, and we even recorded it - though it remains unreleased (along with a version of Goldfinger we recorded at the same time). It was Mark's choice (our rhythm guitar player). I haven't heard it in forever! I'll have to take a listen again.

Jeff is right. It also appeared on disc 4 (the revival) of the Cowabunga box set (which nowadays seems to cost a small fortune).

Wingnut's Theme is a masterpiece. The Stratty quack and the interplay of the two guitars is staggering......ed

I have come to two contradictory conclusions:
1. I need Cowabunga
2. I don't need to spend $125 on the dang thing.
Yikes!
And the only Endless Summer II I can find is the Gary Hoey bidness.

It is a terrific song. Very complex sounding, too - to me anyway! I definitely hear the Slacktone quality Ben mentions. I think I even hear what Eddie calls the strat quack. The interplay of the two guitars reminds me of the Insect Surfers' approach, too, for what it's worth.
I am astounded that the price of the Cowabunga box has gone up so much. I remember it was expensive, though not exactly how expensive. I might have gotten it used. It was only two or three years ago it seems like. Maybe as many as five? God, I'm getting old. Is it really out of print? The only new listing on Amazon (from a reseller) is $500, and the rates of $125 you quote are the used prices. Actually, it's more like $130-$135 used in the listings there. And those are the cheap ones.

I dig the Wingnut's theme. One of the best on the Cowabunga set.
P.S. I still have a couple of those Cowabunga sets layin' around the music room. What are they worth now? Anybody know?
