Wow, I remember that song, I was but a wee little lad when that was playing on our 'Transistor' radio. Nice touch with the interview, Dick Clark had a way about himself even back then in the early days, I suppose that's why he was so successful. Anybody know what happened to the Trashmen? |

I saw The Trashmen 'live' at The Rose Garden Ballroom in Pismo Beach in the early 60's when "Surfin' Bird" was a hit. The drummer was the lead singer. The Impacts opened as they often did with out of town bands. Hey Spud....they have a myspace and maybe you can get some info there. The TakeOffs |

yeah THE TRASHMEN rule I am posting pix of them shortly in another forum thread called "headin' to Green Bay, Chicago: TRASHMEN. NEANDERTHALS", so if U R interested, seek it out and keep a watch out for it here I am with the band in Green Bay last November - they are amazing live (do plenty of surf) and sweet dudes to boot plus a pix of my 45 RPM (from 'way back when' - my original copy!!) of SURFIN' BIRD !! oooh mow mow UNSTEADY FREDDIE
