the latest issue of rolling stone has this don wilson quote about their induction into the rock n roll hall of fame.............

"it's a long time coming.....for years it's bothered me that we haven't gotten in. i hate the word 'posthumously'."

Ha! nice pick up mom...

Laughing

that's very clever quote! he's basically saying, it's about effing time, but with a funny twist so it doesnt come off as arrogant. and it is very well deserved indeed! nice find mom!

The is no one more deserving of that award than the Ventures. They have probably been more responsible for inspiring people to first pick up an electric guitar than everyone else (put together) in history.

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

I still don't see how you can take such an organization seriously when it has only now inducted The Ventures but inducted U2 two years ago.

Great quote. I'm delighted that they finally got inducted. It wasn't post "humorously either". javascript:emoticon(':D')

I doubt I'd be playing rhythm guitar if it wasn't for Don Wilson. I met him and the rest of the Ventures a few years ago while on the Ventures/Los Straitjackets cruise out of LA. What a great guy!! Getting to tell Don what an impact he made on my life and guitar playing was a major highlight for me. The Ventures should have made the Hall of Fame in the late '60's!!! I'm just glad that they were inducted, even if it was so late in their careers.

Richard,
Are you sure it's the Rock and Roll "Hall of Laaaaaaaaaame,"
or is it the typical "Hall Of Shame?"

COME ON!!!! Madonna?!?!?!?!?? Queen of POP?!? Inducted into
the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Madonna?!?!?!?

Excuse me while I go look up the definition of "Rock and Roll".......
p.s. By now, Beethoven HAS turned over in his grave..... Stuff Hits the Fan

When is this SitCom on?....March 10th????

Dennis, if you can find "Rock and Roll Hall of Lame" by Mojo Nixon. It's hysterical. He refers to it both ways; "Lame" and "Shame." My old band used to cover it and our singer would kind of freestyle his own rant about The Eagles in the middle of it. Sometimes I'd fall out laughing on stage.

Richard, Just went thru 5 pages of YOUTUBE and it wasn't listed under either Title. Was there by chance maybe a Sub Title that was used instead?
p.s. Some of that stuff on there was pretty funny!!
