I've got a little over 120 surf albums. My favorite pieces are Jim Messina and the Jesters LP, A Man or Astro-Man VHS and Lunchbox with Thermos, and a Tornadoes 45 which I found locally in a thrift store. Also, I've got Jon and the Night Riders live at the Whiskey on LP, that is another one I'm really happy with as well as Sonic Bullets on LP. Some cool 45s as well. I've got the first Bambi Molesters release on 45 on red vinyl, all the Space Cossacks 45s, Cossacks cassette.

What I would love to find is a mint stereo pressing of The Ghouls "Dracula's Deuce" and Bobby (Boris) Pickett pressing of the original "Monster Mash" LP
before he passed away I did get an autographed CDR copy with cover and all from Bobby a few years back.

Of the CDs I own, I'd say about 10% are surf albums. Probably the rarest one I own is a promo copy of the Ghastly Ones' first album.

It is the Cassette only release. Orbital Planetary Strategic Command. It is pretty rad.
I tried to buy that Ghouls album a couple years back, insane prices on ebay.

It came with a CDR of the tracks plus some bonus goodies on the CDR. I must thank the God of Surf Guitar for that one.

I have that Dracula's Deuce LP by the Ghouls somewhere. I think the instrumentals showed up on that "Toes On The Nose" compilation, they're pretty good if you like that Superstocks/Gary Usher kinda sound. The vocals, on the other hand, are pretty corny novelty tunes. Yawn..
I never cared much for the vocals but on the other hand the instros are great you lucky dog, I do have a copy of it on a German bootleg called
"The Hondells Vol. 4 More aliases and early recordings"
I also need to pass my vinyl to CDR but I'm so lazy, pause record pause record

I know alot of Europeans and other think that Vinyl sounds better.
and this may be true, in some cases.
but I prefer my surf on cds.
But I do have alot of Vinyl
about 100 45s and
probably 50 or so LPs
but I have around 1500 cds.
and they are able to be played on my stereo in my truck.
as I dont have a Ipod player to transfer stuff to.

Vinyl sounds better, which is a fact assuming one doesn't have a bad record player.
CDs are produced at 44.1 khz. Vinyl doesn't have a limitation as it is analog. So essentially whatever you record at shows up on the vinyl. We recorded our album at 96khz. So there is a sound quality loss which wouldn't appear on vinyl.
Rumor has it that our studio now has protools HD so we will record at 192khz next time.

I think I have somewhere between 600-700 surf/instro CDs and LPs, mostly CDs. Maybe 30 or 40 45s.
The rarest stuff ... hmmm. The Hollywood Surfers' "Surf Family" LP, a Peruvian pressing of Yuzo Kayama's "All About Yuzo Kayama" LP, and a few Terauchi Takeshi LPs, including "Manatso No Umi Wo Buttobase" LP with the original poster insert.
Most of it I didn't pay a lot for - the Jesters LP with the cover art Zak dubbed the "disco inferno" version was $8 on eBay, I bought original pressings of DD's Surfer's Choice and Summer Surf LPs for like $3 each, and I found an immaculate copy of Duane Eddy's "$1,000,000 of Twang" in a LP dollar bin.

I wish I had it in me to be a vinyl snob, I really do. But I just don't have the resources (financial, space, and otherwise) to justify it. Plus I've never had good luck keeping vinyl in good condition. I always manage to do something that creates surface noise. And now I have kids, and they can be murder on a vinyl record and a stylus.
As it stands now I don't even own a turntable and I haven't bought any vinyl in years.
But I would love, love, love to be able to transfer some out-of-print vinyl to CD.

I much prefer vinyl. Its the ultimate listening experience IMHO. Sadly, its tough to spin records in the car. So I've got a sh*t load of CDs, probably nearing 2 to 3000. Also, have switched more and more to mp3 these days for the sheer convenience of on-the-road listening.
I've got to get one of those turntables with the usb port so I can start buying more vinyl and ripping them to mp3s for the road (That and two new speakers to replacy my blown floor JBLs).
Of my surf tunes, I'd say my most prized are the two Huntington Cads discs, The two Treble Spankers discs, and Jim Messina's Dragsters disc. I've got a huge amount of surf on mp3 though.
