Hey anyone, but most likely Klas,
I'm going to be in Sweden and Denmark July2-9.
It's going to be a whirlwind tour and I'm not quite sure of where I'm going to be and when, but I'd love to catch a surf show if possible?
Anybody gigging around that time? El Ray, the Langhorns, the Surfites?

Unfortunately, there isn't much of a surf music scene in Sweden these days. As for Surfites shows, we don't normally do any since we're mainly a studio group put together for recordings.

Klas, what do you think of Langhorns? I suspect they do not qualify as a surf band to you, but I was just wondering. I am a big fan of theirs, especially their second CD Club Gabardino. Not as a big of a fan of the electronica experiments on their third and most recent album Mission Exotica, but it still has some good stuff. Do you know if they are still together and active?

I have a many many times removed cousin who lives in Copenhagen and plays in a band called "Swing of Sahara". They describe their influences as: Gypsy jazz, punk, surf, Latin and Balkan. I also here some spaghetti western. Check out their myspace page for tunes and dates:

To be honest, I don't know anything about them besides they're from Sweden.

Dang, they're playing in Copenhagen the 14th, too late for me. They sound kinda cool too. Can't be too far removed, he's got the same last name?

We figured that our family trees split in the early 1900's.
Anyway, have a great trip Paul, please give a report on any cool music you hear.
