Hello everybody!
I´m new here! I´m a huge Surf Guitar Music-Fan since my childhood!
I found this interesting wonderful side by chance(and I always thought I´m the only Surf Guitar Music-fanatic in this world) , while I was looking for a Surf Music Title, so perhaps You folks can help me?
I heard the title for the first time in only one episode of Spongebob Squarepants:"Can You Spare A Dime" in the scene were Spongebob takes care of Squidward. I found only the German version of this clip:
http://www.nick.de/index.php?id=32&ep=348
I found out also through a webinformation that some of the music for Spongebob was used through APM Music Libary. And yesterday I found there at last the full version of this music-title(after sooo long time of searching!)
http://www.apmmusic.com/main.php
-I clicked "Guest Music Research" (waited a bit, it takes time changing)
-then on the new page browsed down on the "Categories-box" until
"TV/Radio Themes" appeared
-then down clicked on "Danger Man"
-then a new page appears, clicked there on "THE SIXTIES"
-then on "i", then on "View all Tracks"
-then on the new page on the second title: "Break-Thru" clicked on the music-note
and it plays
that´s it this is the title. But which group plays it?
There is only information that it was written by Gary Mills(I think it´s not Spongebob´s pet who wrote it?) and that the CD is from KPM Music Libary(but according to other webinformation the CD is not available anymore) and there is no Groupname who plays it.
http://www.spyboproyale.com/second1.html
So perhaps some of You know which Group plays it and if it´s available on CD?

Let me welcome you to Surfguitar 101.
I don't know thw band, or the song, but I believe that you will find that
the song you are seeking is not a surf type of song. It is a Beatle era type of song. Sort of a British invasion type of music, with a paisley sort of sound. Not unlike Chad and Jerarmy type of stuff.
Good luck with your search.

If it's a KPM production then it almost definitely wasn't an actual group, but rather, session musicians.
KPM Library LPs are constantly on eBay - as far as CDs, there are a few commercially available comps (like "Ain High," a collection of ex-Shadows drummer Brian Bennett's TV cop show soundtrack work), but the vast majority of their catalogue was never made available to the general public. I would check eBay constantly - especially sellers located in the United Kingdom.

according to www.imdb.com
original music for the SpongeBob Squarepants show was created by:
Jeremy Wakefield (20 episodes, 1999-2007)
The Blue Hawaiians (11 episodes, 1999-2007)
Bradley Carow (9 episodes, 1999-2002)
also, you could look into their music department:
Nick Carr .... music editor (20 episodes, 1999-2007)
Jennie Monica .... music coordinator (9 episodes, 2001-2002)
Stephen Hillenburg .... composer: theme song / lyricist: "Underwater Sun" / ... (2 episodes, 2002-2007)
Eban Schletter .... composer: additional music / composer: additional songs (2 episodes, 2007)
From what I can tell, it looks like Jeremy Wakefield is the composer you're looking for. But, it could be The Blue Hawaiians or Bradley Carrow..
You can probably find the cd you are searching for at www.amazon.com - Spongebob has several cd's out right now.

after viewing your german spongebob clip- it sounds like it might be the blue hawaiians...you might contact Pascal Records (www.pascalrecords.com) and see if they know where you might find the tune you're searching for...
also, you might try to locate a dvd copy of the episode in question and dub over the soundtrack to cd...

Great song! I don't think I've ever heard it before but it's obviously an early to mid 1960s recording and sounds like it was done in Europe.
(For those who clicked on the wrong track, the song is a 1960s recorded guitar instrumental)

Sorry I don't the specific titles, or if this is even related to your song search, but, both The Woodies and Los Meltones have songs featured in SpongeBob Squarepants.

Isn't "Underwater Sun" the one which Lux Interior of The Cramps sings
the vocals? Also, the "puppet" that plays the singer bears a resemblence
to Lux.
Also, one of the members of Meshugga Beach Party (at least one or
two of them on on this forum) provided some of the incidental music.
SPONGEBOB ROCKS!!!

As far as I know, The Mel-tones songs are used only in the following SpongeBob episodes:
Big Ping Loser / Bubble Buddy
Bubblestand / Ripped Pants
Help Wanted / Reef Blower / Tea at the Tree
Musclebob Buffpants / Squidward Unfriendly
Naughty Nautical Neighbors
Sandy's Rocket / Squeaky Boots
Suds Sleepytime
I got so much cooler in my daughter's book the first time she saw one of these.

It's a Flash Player thing so it can't be linked directly.
An alternative way to get to it is to first click on "Guest Music Search" to the left on the main site. On the next page click "Advanced Search" at the bottom of the left column. Then type "break-thru" in the "Search Text" box and check the "Track Title" option. Hit the "Search" button just below and the song will turn up in the center where you click the green musical note and the song will play.

Klas I must admit, that I always thought, that it is an european group which plays the title. I thought of THE SHADOWS or SPOTNICKS(but I think the SPOTNICKS have a more louder space-like sound!). I also thought more that it´s the title of a SHADOW B-side EP. I even thought of the guitar-groups of Joe Meek:like THE AMBASSADORS, THE OUTLAWS...
Perhaps some Group here will play it some day in one of his next concerts or albums?
I thank everyone also for the suggestion of looking at the groups websides who played in the Spongebob episodes, but I looked at them long time ago and no title matched. The music is really from stock tracks of Associated Production Music and it must be, from his sound, an older title from the sixties.
