They've got a killer surf show on Fridays from 9-10am and repeats 6-7pm. I just got XM for Christmas, and it rocks! The show is called Kowabunga Uber Alles.

Check it out here:

Send your stuff to Lou Brutus. See the XM website for details.
I've sent him stuff from Surf Report, CHUM and a couple compilations. He will actually play it and promote you.

Whenever he spins something from Charlie Does Surf, I get a couple online sales, so I know people listen to his show.

I've had XM for a couple of years now and I listen to it nearly every day. And yes, a timer is set for Kowabunga Uber Alles.

The '60s on 6 also has a surf show called "Wax Your Woody."

Swing! Twang! Shake! Twist!

Cool! Thanks for the heads up Rick.

we listen to XM everyday in our shop

It must have been on the Wax your Woody show, certainly it was on the 60's channel, they had Dick Dale hosting. This must have been at least a year ago, I only caught the tail end of it however.

I wasn't aware of the Kowabunga Uber Alles, thanks for the heads-up!

I am not a fan of listening to music that I didn't choose or I don't know what is coming before hand. Which is why it takes a lot for me to buy an album.

However, I find XM radio perfect for being in a shop/store and having it as background music. My guitar store listens to a great indie station from time to time. I recognize a lot of good stuff.

Not having much luck on where to send material to Lou. Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks for the tip. I've listened to WYW on the 60s channel, but didn't know about this show.

One of my XM receivers has recording capability, so I can "Tivo" it & listen later.

XM is great, expecially in the car or, better still, my motorcycle.

I have been listening to this quite a bit:

www.pandora.com

It's free.......for now any way.

i have sirius, and love it, used to have XM... only thing i would like on sirius is a surf channel:) the punk channel is pretty good though..

BUT... check out aol music, totally free and has a 24/7 surf channel thats damn good:) free service...

I wanna play just like him when i grow up...

P2gee, I just found Pandora, too. Typed in "Ventures" and I'm gettin a nice mix of surfy instros from Lively Ones, Los Straits, Man or Astro MAn, Esquires, Belairs among many others. Duane Eddy!

Long time reader, first time poster... i'm sure telling you all this is like teaching Grandma how to suck eggs, but what about live365? There's heaps of surf stations, or stations like mine which feature a mixture of surf, garage, punk etc:

Give them a try, the ads are a bit annoying but it's free.

By the way we foreigners can't listen to Pandora because they have blocked anyone with a non-US IP address.

Sometimes I listen to last.fm and type in Los Straitjackets or the Ventures and get a great surfy mix.
