Yes, the digipack is great and the "coupons" and bad double entendre offers are funny. I also really love the whole aesthetic of The Surfites and Big Pounder. Very studied and detailed, right down the the old liner note font style. The "Play Along" section is hilarious and sweet at the same time. (Not to mention, actually educational!) |

Oh yes. That was definitely my favorite performance of the year. Funniest show - the Pyronauts (and opening act Hookerfight) playing for the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine's sophomore class (or whoever they were). My favorite new songs: |

It was a memorable year for sure. My vote for best comeback in 2007 is Eddie Bertrand. Most over the top introduction of a band in 2007, Best performance by an individual during one song, Bill Swanson of The Eliminators on sax during Comanche. The rest of the band isn't bad either. Best event, Baja Martys was awesome. Tiki Tina's with Eddie Bertrand tearing it up on Squad Car with Outer Wave then Scratch with The Ghastly Ones was amazing. I missed Eddie playing with Los Straightjackets. |

For me, BSOY was the HBISM show on August 5 at Pier Plaza. Besides the sun, sand, surf, and honeys ... my wife & daughter ... there were: Pollo del Mar (hi Ferenc) Each doing a 1-hour set. Damn! Makes me want to move to the Left Coast (did I mention that it's sleeting outside as I write this?) |

Whoa how did I forget that one?? Hmm, now I'm debating which was funniest. Probably the gorillas, but either way the mighty Pyronauts have earned both gold and silver in the funniest show category. Not bad. |

I think I only bought one surf CD this year, the Thundercheifs "Dig" but it is my favorite release of 2007. Best Show? Exotica 2007. Trashmen! —"as he stepped into the stealthy night air... little did he know the fire escape was not there" https://www.facebook.com/reluctantaquanauts/ |

Well, if you only bought one surf CD last year, you made a good choice. I can't say it's my absolute favorite release of 2007, but it was definitely in my top 10. —Sean Surf CD's / Vinyl / Fanzines / DVD's |
